Rule No. 1 on Linkedin: Don't be a jerk!

Rule No. 1 on Linkedin: don’t be a jerk.

That’s my advice to those who are newer to the platform.

Linkedin is the emotionally intelligent social network and the empathetic community here lifts people up, we don’t tear people down.

That’s what other social media platforms are for.

Recently, a guy who's been on Linkedin for 20 minutes has been targeting my posts with a whole lot of negativity.

He’ll show up on a post celebrating a win or otherwise generating good vibes (as I do) and straight up try to rain on the parade.

No sir.
Not here.

A good rule of thumb is to think of yourself as a guest in someone’s house when you stop by the comments on their posts.

You’re welcome to come inside, mix & mingle, but if you’re a jerk, you’ll be shown the door.

If you want to thrive on LinkedIn:

1. Be a good human.
2. Choose positivity over negativity.
3. Join in on celebrating the success of others.

Watch what happens.

Hi5 & happy Friyay.
