Who is Liam Darmody?
Liam Darmody is a startup operator who has spent 20+ years helping companies grow through exceptional customer experience, GTM strategy, brand marketing, and now Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
His career started in operations, though he often wished he was in marketing and communications. Serendipitously, that's exactly where he ended up. He's held roles in recruiting/HR, sales enablement, customer success, revenue operations, talent marketing, employer and personal branding.
Today, he brings an operator's mindset to helping customers build scalable workflows for AI-driven brand visibility.
Throughout his career, he's had the good fortune of scaling several startups leading to acquisitions by Groupon, Oracle, Costar Group and TELUS International.
Today, he's VP of Customer Success and GTM Operations at myBrandi.ai, where he helps companies monitor and improve how their brand appears in AI-generated answers across frontier LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of making brands more discoverable, retrievable, citable, and recommendable inside AI systems. His interest in it is an extension of his passion for helping companies and people build authentic, human, trusted brands that increase visibility and create opportunity.
Prior to Brandi AI, he founded Liam's Brand Stand, where he's helped business leaders build trust, thought leadership, and meaningful relationships through personal branding and LinkedIn Sales Navigator social selling strategy.
That work resulted in LinkedIn asking him to teach "Manifest Serendipity to Build Your Personal Brand" as a LinkedIn Learning instructor.
He believes that business has always been personal and LinkedIn is becoming the embodiment of that.
It's the world's greatest serendipity manifestation engine.
His life has changed several times since he started sharing his personality and perspective there. As a result, he's stumbled upon his current mission:
To help businesses and humans share the WHO behind what they DO. Because the strongest brands feel unmistakably human. AI can amplify clarity, discoverability, and scale, but it can't replicate lived experience, conviction, personality, or genuine human connection.
That's the moat.
Outside of work, he's a husband, dad of two, strength-training enthusiast, and hot sauce aficionado. He's also on a multi-year health journey to lose 150 pounds and is currently halfway to that goal. It's one of the accomplishments he's most proud of.
